Have you ever had that moment…?

Sometimes I wonder, can there ever be real serenity in our lives? Or do we go about our lives searching for that “sense” of serenity. That ‘state of calmness and tranquility, free from stress’ that seems to only exist when we are lost in a good book or maybe during those five minutes while we drink our coffee in the morning and our mind just drifts.

In all honesty, after the coffee and the day starts do you get the feeling back? Sometimes days can pass between those moments and what are you left with? ..The opposite of serenity; stress, anxiety, even depression, exhaustion, the list could go on: Despair. The danger is that if we don’t stop this cycle it’ll just continue to bring us down. It starts slowly, one day you just don’t feel like getting out of bed….but you do anyway. The next day, you don’t. Things start to overwhelm you, little things…things that normally wouldn’t bother you at all.

The people that used to make you laugh, now just make you think even more of how much you don’t laugh. The things that you used to do to stay active; exercise, sports, games….they’re all gone.

Now, there comes a point where you just have to snap out of it!! Break the cycle, get back to yourself. That’s where the sad part comes in…..because in most cases that ambition only lasts a few days or a week perhaps and the depths of despair draw you back into their grasps.

Do you see the importance of this topic?  Aside from a healthy spiritual routine, it is important to consider the physical and emotional aspects of our lives that contribute to our state of mind.  What things do you do on a daily basis that helps you keep your center?

Feel free to share your thoughts!  We are in a society where sharing perspectives and thoughts has become more commonplace and yearned for. Connection.  However if left unchecked it this itself and become a factor that contributes to either our inner peace or lack thereof.

Until next time…
